This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for brilliantbluedesigns.com, jamie-thomson-designer.com and it’s subdomains. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this web site. It will notify you of the following:

Information given to us by you- the potential, existing, or enquiring customer- through email or phone contact, newsletter sign-up, or through agreeing to download information,  is considered protected communication and information. This information will be referred to in this section as “protected information”. We are the sole owners of this protected information.

We will use your protected information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We may add you to a newsletter list in the future if you agree to be added.  We will not share your protected information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary or requested by you to fulfill your request, e.g. to complete a service or complete a consultation.

We request additional protected information from you on our invoices. To do business with us, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address).   For the most part, we handle payment through third-party agencies (i.e. Paypal, Stripe, getHarvest) on secure servers so we personally do not handle your financial information and leave that to the professionals.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. We take every reasonable effort to keep our site secure and updated.  

Wherever we collect financial data such as credit card numbers, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. As mentioned above, payments are processed securely through verified third-party processors. No credit card numbers are held or handled by us directly for security reasons- we will not process credit cards ourselves or take credit card numbers from you directly.  

We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, customer service, website access) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. For those of our customers who send checks, we do hold on to the paper checks in our filing until we know our bank has properly processed them, and then we destroy them.

We take the security of your information as seriously as we take our own.
